I just bought one this week, I will have my review on this firearm this evening.  I can tell you this, I LOVE that little gun!!

I finally broke down and bought my FN.  It is a great gun, great quality build, fit and finish all around.  I purchased this to compete in the IDPA matches coming up this year. I managed to get to the range and put 400 rounds through it over two days to break it in, and get used to the sight picture and the overall functions of the gun.  On the third day I shot my first IDPA match, I finished 3rd in my class ( had one procedural that killed my score) and 18th overall in a field of 46 shooters.  Not too bad for a first try, I am signed up for the classifier in March and with a little more range time hope to do MUCH better, at least now I know what to expect and have some more familiarity with the rules.

But back to the gun....  It came in a hard carry box and inside was 3 17 rd mags, the gun, owners manual, trigger lock, 4 back straps that can be changed on the grip, gun lock, spent casing, and the usual registration and product info cards.  I cleaned it and then went to the range,  Mags change smoothly, quickly.  the decocker / safety works good, and the slide release worked good as well. the sights are big white dots that make target acquisition easy and quick.  I found it easy to transition from target to target.  Trigger in double action was smooth and clean, no creep and let off predictably.  In single action it was very light and a short reset made it a real quick shooter. The gun is light and very well balanced, even with a full mag in it, it was still balanced and felt light.  Recoil was mild and not as harsh as I would have imagined, made it easy to maintain my sight alignment shot after shot.

What I don't like....  The slide release is very small and can be hard to release in a hurry, I practice power stroking the slide instead of using the release so that was not a big issue.  During one stage of the IDPA match, some how my thumb hit the safety and engaged it, being only the 3rd time I fired the gun when I pulled the trigger and it didn't go bang I went through the usual tap, rack, bang drill to no avail until I noticed the safety was on.  I am sure having spent more time with the gun at the range I would have encountered this somewhere and would have been better able to trouble shoot the gun and been quicker to fix the problem.  Luckily for me I only lost about a second and a half.

The last thing I didn't like has nothing to do with the gun, it seems like only 2 places make kydex holster for this model and it is a lead time of 16-18 weeks. Bummer..  went with a leather for now.

Over all I love this gun and would HIGHLY recommend it to any one !!!!!
