I just wanted to take a minute and thank all my Friends and family members who served, and are currently serving in the military, to say thank you for all you have done. I am proud of you all and we should all be grateful for all of your sacrifices. And to all the other members of the military that I do not know, I would like to take a min to thank each and every one of you personally, your family's should be proud of you and your service. Without your dedication to service who knows where we may be right now.  Stay safe and come home soon, you are all dearly missed. 

This is a good article on selection of self defense ammunition.  If you have taken my class you will remember that when asked about this topic I always say to review the various types available, research one and choose what you think fits your needs. Then go out and fire a mag or so through the firearm to see how it performs, both on the target and through the firearm.  Some people have found that the cartridge they selected had failure to feed issues, double feed problems or even stovepipes.  All things that you don't want to find out when your life is on the line.  I always recommend to replace your carry ammo every two years at a max, the optimum being yearly. Frequent handling, loading and unloading, dropping on the floor etc.. can all add the the ammo not functioning, and again your carrying to protect life and i would imagine you would want complete confidence in that firearm and ammo, thats why you chose them.
