I have a few Springfield products and I enjoy each and every one of them. The fit and finish on the products are second to none. The match grade barrels that come with mosout thereer products arveryry well made and very accurate. The first experience with this firearm was during one of my basic pistol classes. I had purchased the firearm, brought it home and gave it a good cleaning. I had a sizable class and was running 2 shooting lines and needed another 9mm, so reluctantlyly dug this out. Being a brand new firearm I took the first shot with it, and the resulted in a dead center bulls eye from 15 yards ! Not to shabby for a first shot out of the gun. My students all got the chance to shot it and everyone enjoyed the way it functioned, and the accuracy they were able to achieveve with the gun as well.
The new trigger feels nice and crisp, with no noticeable creep, and very deliberate let off. It felt very good and predictable. The sights are nice and easy to acquire, and the mag release is in a good spot and easily accessable. Being able to change back straps made the gun fit my hand quite nicely and the grip surface worked good as well. The safety mechanism took a little getting used to. It has a grip safety and a trigger safety as well, if that grip safety is not depressed you cannot move the slide at all. So the first few times it was interesting to figure that out for disassembly, and just working the slide to check for clear. Once you get used to it, it is no big deal at all. I just have not had anything else with this style safety. The slide lock is a little on the small side, but again, once you get used to it, not an issue.
So overall I like the gun alot and definitely recommend it to any one looking for a mid sized 9mm. If your not sure, I would suggest at least checking one out and if possible test fire one. You will not be disappointed.
